History

Restaurant Årstiderna in Malmö represents with it's attractive location in Kockska Huset both social and culinary history. The house, built in the early 1520-ies, is looked upon by the historians as beeing one of the Nordic counties best preserved private habitations - a masterpiece that reflects the breaking period between late Gothic style and the Renaissance style. The commissioner were the Danish King's mint master in Malmö, Jörgen Kock (1487-1556).

The house was already under Kock's period demonstrably the scene for many generous banquets, ceremonies and parties were mead, wine from Burgundy and Rehn flowed. Thru the centuries the Kockska huset has now and then had the function of an inn, for instance under the regime of Johan Clausen Ebbe in the 17th century.

After a reverential restoration in the early 1960-ies the foundation of Kockska Husets modern reputaion by the legendary restaurateur Lars Lendrop was laid.

The culinary tradition is carried on by the owner family Pieplow with Restaurant Årstiderna in Kockska Huset.
